G'day all

I rocked up at the servo for the start nice and early to find 8 Redcliff Ulyssis Boys and Three B4C lads on the scene already, this is gonna be bigger than normal i'm thinking.

By the time we left there were 28 Bikes, between ISRA members and friends.

As the planned route had been washed out over the last few weeks, last night I hasshed up a ride plan based on good roads I knew and a pub I knew that would feed us all on the spot.

We cruzed out via a light tour of Beronia Hights to Johnson rd and into Carrol Park, onto the Ipswitch motor way and up the Warrigo Hwy then on to Fernvale.

,

The amount of bikes on the road told a tale of fustration at the past few weeks rain, there were even some nice classics about...

From Fernvale we headed West to Lowood where just out of Lowood I hit a Dog on the Moto Guzzi that I was "Test" riding at the time, and the bike promptly died.  The side stand idiot light was lit up so I pulled over and those back with me stopped to help.  This was a two cable tie fix and we were off, the front brakes however would no longer work so I road tail for the rest of the way to lunch at the Clifton Hotel via Gatton,

Some of us went in to the Club hotel for a meal, and others went for takaways - I dont think the takaways cost more than the pub meal either, and it was airconned.

A quick fuel stop at Allora, always interesting with that number of bikes, then some back country roads to Aratula for coffie and cake.

Those going home to the North Side parted and the South East boys went home via Boonah and Beaudesert, copping some weather on the way.

Top Day Out people.. Thanks to all who attended - and bring some friends next time..LOL

Hey all

Todays impromptu run worked out well,

We headed out with the intention to head out to Jacobs Well but the water got to us and we went west to Boonah via the Mundoolan connection road instead...

By the time we got to lunch we were dry.

Dave and I swapped Bikes for a bit, so I could get Triumph out of my system.

After lunch we headed to the Fernvale bakery via Amberly and separated from there.

Good Day out ppls

Hey all

The mystery run for the day started out at gate way shell as planned.  We headed out north to pick up Rodney at Caboolture.  Other ride body’s were Myself, Chris, Rhonda, Dave, Maree, Terry and Pauline.  Dave had a surprise Lined up.  Yamaha’s recent offering the 1300 water cooled twin.So we treated her like a right slut, yep every body had a go, tag team style.

From a flying stop Caboolture BP north onto the Irwin way to Beerwah where we did a U turn having missed the Peachester turn off, Onward toward Woodford.  Just before Woodford we turned of on the correctional center road across to Kilcoy for a coffee and to wave at the Yowie.

Heading south for split yard creek we missed another turn and ended up at Esk where Dave and I swapped bikes.  We fueled up at Fernvale, and headed south to Marberg, Rodney on the 1300, Dave on Rodney’s mount, Chris and Rhonda on mine and me on Chris’s scoot.

Leaving Fernvale gas station we promptly missed the turn and got to practice another formation U turn.

The Walloon, Saloon, our lunch venue welcomed us with open arms cold beer and Foood!  After a cold beer and some hot food took off on our own scoots.  Out through Amberley to the Boonah road and at the Beaudesart turn off we had a bike rounder again.  Maree got the 13, Dave hopped on my scoot and I rode Maree’s Dragstar.  More fun, more twistys, and then a slow hay truck who failed to recognize the fifteen cars and trail of bikes trapped in its wake.  We passed as best we could on a slow hill and Dave gave the gentleman a funny wave, (I hadn’t realized they knew each other).

Back to our original bikes at Beaudesart. And on to the Bearded Dragon for a Cold Foaming Ale.  After a couple of drinks and some bull shitting, rode out via Camp Cable road as the dusk was settling on the parched landscape.and peeled of our separate ways on the Mt Lindsay.

A Good time was had by all

Hey All

I had the opportunity to have a play on a road liner again today, thanks to our own Dave Hull, service manager at Pro Yamaha Springwood (is that a plug? No couldn’t be)

Any who I turned up at the work shop bright and early. to get the boys to install a new clutch set in the machine, kind of a job I would have rather done my self but I was running short of time and the slip was getting worse. So in she goes.

As I got there one of Dave’s boys was pushing a road liner out of the shop, and I was stirring him up like what’s wrong mate doesn’t it work? Dave said that’s yours mate, and I’m like Okay, take shoe outa mouth, and hope it does work.

Yamaha got a few things right with the road liner.

I am starting to believe that there might possibly be something addictive planted in the machine by the evil and all seeing mamma yamma.

It might not catch every body’s eye but it is one sweet machine to ride.

I took it home to pick up my goggles and headed out to Jimboomba and across to Beenleigh, up to Upper Mount Gravatt and back home. Then Dave called and tells me my tractor was ready so with a tear in either eye I returned the road liner.

Io would have liked a partner for that ride but all you peasants were working.

Gotta say there’s a lotta sports bike in that machine, it was quick through the gears, nimble on the road, responsive to any demands and breaking ability was faultless.

Bottom line I want one!

But then I would like a bike for every day of the week and I have seen the new 2008 Raider S and I want one of them more!

If I had my choice of boltons??

The yammy seat would probably be the first out the door and quite likely in favour of the ultimate seat.

some H/way pegs would have been nice though the stock floor boards leave plenty of room to move around, and the stock shifter heal is nice and low profile

Not sure about the handle bars but was fairly attached to them after a while.

Lastly I would possibly look for a kick stand with a spur on it as the stock on is a little slippery to get on to.

Keep well

Luke
